Shinji's Tape Player Gets A Tech Upgrade With New Sony Walkman F

Sony is upgrading Shinji Ikari's tape player so he can continue to listen to the same track over and over again in high-definition audio. The Sony Walkman F Evangelion Series: SDAT is engraved to look like Shinji's classic SDAT tape player and can be ordered with pre-installed Evangelion films' soundtracks.
The Walkman comes with a set of XBA-H3 headphones and a retro-styled box and retails for 87,000 yen (~US$870). Customers can opt for a version without headphones and special box for 43,000 (~US$430).
A second version based on the NERV headquarters insignia is also available. The set will also bundle a MORA card to download the television series' opening theme "Cruel Angel's Thesis" when the Walkman is bought at the Sony Store Ginza, Nagoya, or Osaka. Both go on sale next week.
