I'm not surprised, but given the high expectations for this game, I think the delay may be a good thing.

Well if the delay is for us getting a better game then so be it. I also have other games to keep me busy until then
Now it would be nice to have Shenmue 1&2 re-released on the current generation consoles.

I'm not surprised. I also won't be surprised for when it gets delayed to 2019.

Very rarely have I seen a delay actually make a game better.

The fact that we're even getting Shenmue III is amazing. If we have to wait an extra year or so, then so be it. Give me more time to go back and replay the first two.

I'm glad they decided to delay the game and take the time they need.

Honestly was expecting this, but I'm a little nervous since the statement sounds like Japanese corporately-worded code for "we've hit major technical issues and have to start from scratch".

Considering how we haven't seen any real game footage yet, the delay is entirely just to make the game, not to make it better.
Funny thing is they said just a couple weeks ago that things were still on schedule and they wouldn't be attending any events in June to meet their deadline. Oops.

I'm not surprised. Gives me more time to get a PS4.

The amount of delays for a video game, specifically crowd-funded, is an issue. At least it hasn't yet had as many delays as "Mighty No. 6".
