To me it looks like these films could have played in a more general release if Aniplex / AOA had been willing to take a risk. ( I know, I know, 4 letter word. )

But they're only playing one or two shows in each city, so it's not a matter of making a big splash. If anything, the slow dribble out across the country and all of us beggging to get it in our town helps to maintain the interest in the franchise and build demand for the eventual DVD/Blu-Ray release… just like Justin told Answerman a few months ago. |
