The official website for Japan Anima(tor)'s Exhibition (Japan Animator Expo), the weekly anime shorts from Hideaki Anno's Studio Khara and the media company Dwango, began streaming the 35th short "Cassette Girl" on Friday. The short is the final one in the third season, and Japan Animator Expo has not revealed plans for another season.

Hiroyasu Kobayashi (Evangelion: 1.0 You Are [Not] Alone CGI director) directed the short based on his own original story. Shigeto Koyama (Big Hero 6, Gundam: Reconguista in G) handled the art direction and character design, while Takeshi Takakura (Macross Frontier, Aquarion Evol) handled the mechanical design. Yoji Enokido (Ouran High School Host Club, Star Driver) wrote the screenplay and Masayuki (Neon Genesis Evangelion: The End of Evangelion, Evangelion: 2.0 You Can [Not] Advance) drew the storyboard. Studio Khara's Digital Department provided 3D animation for the short.
Animator Expo describes the story:

In the world,The people of dim cold winter had been managing all [THE MEDIA].
The website for the short is also displaying 3D modeling designs, character designs, backgrounds, and art direction/storyboards.
Japan Animator Expo's official website is also listing that NHK BS Premium will air a documentary about the project on November 8 starting at 11:50 p.m.
The lineup for the third season of the project is as follows:
For the third season, Japan Animator Expo once again released a new episode every Friday.
Hideaki Anno himself served as executive producer of the entire project initiative with Dwango President Nobuo Kawakami, and he also designed the image character mascot "(Tor)-kun." Ghibli co-founder Hayao Miyazaki created the title logo, and fellow Ghibli co-founder Toshio Suzuki colored it. The shorts mostly feature the voice talent of Ranma ½ and Cowboy Bebop co-stars Kouichi Yamadera and Megumi Hayashibara.
