Just like Over 9000 fits Dragon Ball Z perfectly? Have a nice day, teferi.

The intent behind the title is the same. It's literally asking the reader what weight dumbell they can lift.

If it's a man asking that question, then the show would be named and defined by those men. Do they take a "girls don't belong here" stance like the males in last year's space fishing show (Between the Sky and Sea)? From descriptions I read, it sounded like the manga is mainly about the girls enjoying what they do, rather than aiming to prove anything to the boys.

It's not exclusively about the girls. There's a dichotomy between the men and there girls where they have the girls enjoying learning about working out while it's clearly a competition for the men (although to be clear it's with each other; the girls are always portrayed as amateurs by comparison). Eventually they start forcing the girls into competitions too. It starts off pretty tame with a lot of explanations about dieting and working out then descends into madness.

It's about girls in varying stages of lifting with buff dudes as a backdrop rather than some sort of competition. The only real battle is between Hibiki and her waistline.

Then just leave it as "How many heavy dumbbells can you lift?" with "much" being replaced by "many" for grammatical reasons and that's it.

"Many" means the question is asking the number of dumbbells, and the answer to that is, well, one in each hand tops. It becomes merely stupid, rather than the current stupid and also gramatically wrong.

People have probably already noticed that japanese tends to frame questions in terms of the unit [nan kiro &c] and english in terms of the dimension [how far, how long, how heavy] So.

"How heavy a dumbbell can you lift".

BUT: japanese tends to include the instrument or something else where english doesn't, because japanese has fewer and broader verbs than english does and it needs it for disambiguation. "sora wo tobu", because "tobu" also means jump, but "fly through the sky" is kinda redundant and not something said that often. "Moteru" is a pretty broad verb, much wider than "lift": you don't need to say "dumbbell" to indicate the meaning here, and people don't usually say needless things ["how heavy a dumbbell" would only get said in english if you were distinguishing dumbbells from barbells or kettlebells or what-have-you].

"How much can you lift".

Bang, done. This... shouldn't be challenging to professionals.
