Both titles are ultimately from Showgate. I would think it's probably the case of them having separate agreements for streaming and home video. The other titles this season they licensed to Sentai (Utapri and Flip Flappers) are simulcast in the more usual places. |

If they use Daisuki's subtitles on their disc releases then there is no way in hell that I am buying them. I cannot fathom how whoever subbed episode 3 is paid to do so. The whole scene regarding the outline of the doujin VN scenario was an incoherent mess. There were several other glaring mistakes as well but I invite anyone to watch that segment of the third episode and see just how bad the 'official' subtitles can be.
No, New Game only showed game development through a very tiny window. Stella has in its main cast a scenario writer, a composer, an artist, and a programmer so there are more angles to view the game creation process from. Also it seems that Stella will be going into much more depth than New Game ever did in terms of game development. |

At least the subtitles are rendering for you! To say that Daisuki's web player incurs difficulties when streaming content on my computer would be an understatement of sorts. |

That's just not true because it ignores the tone, theme and subject matter of both series. Stella is about a high school doujin circle and focuses on your usual high school moe antics. It's also quite unrealistic in what a doujin circle of a few people could achieve and puts emphasis on the "moe" angle. New Game is about a professional game studio and the trials and tribulations that come with working such a job. These are full-time employees who often have to stay overnight for crunch time and are expected to put out professional work. Sure, it focuses heavily on artists and QA testing but it's offering a much more realistic view of game development regardless. It provides commentary on being a creative professional and office work in general as well. Ultimately, New Game is quite realistic all things considered. I'm not trying to put down Magic of Stella but the two are different shows about different things and portray their subject matter in different lights. |

I take it that you haven't seen the show? There hasn't been anything shown whatsoever that could be thought of as unrealistic in Stella. Certainly nothing more unrealistic than a professional game studio hiring a character modeler who doesn't have any experience whatsoever with 3d modeling software. particularly Maya. |

As much as I loved New Game, just because the setting is that of a professional, work environment does not mean you get to see that. And it was quite clear that New Game! did not even attempt to do that. In fact the author himself said that he explicitly wanted to avoid that and instead of giving a realistic take on the industry he has worked in himself wanted to give it a moe, super cheerful attitude without getting into any details iirc. So I kinda disagree, Stella no Mahou isn't particularly realistic but it's still trying a bit more than New Game on being realistic. I have several Sentai discs of shows I first watched on Crunchyroll, and the subtitles are different. I imagine Sentai will do their own subtitles for their Magic of Stella release. |

I noticed one scene where Aya is talking to Fujikawa, and I hear her say something about Honda-san's drawings, but in the subtitles it's "your drawings". Confused me a little bit that Fujikawa would be drawing until I connected the name I just heard in Japanese. Adds insult to injury that they delay the simulcast several days yet still can't get the subtitles right in that time frame. Thankfully, I doubt Sentai will actually use the Daisuki translation. They've done their own translations separate from Crunchyroll on the titles they've both streamed, so might end up being the same kind of thing here. |

Man, they really shot themselves in the foot giving exclusive rights to Daisuki. I didn't want to use their service when it was free so no way in hell am I coughing up another subscription fee.
Animelab and Crunchyroll basically get everything else so if they think I'm willing to drop yet another 7 bucks a month for one show they've got another thing coming. |

With Magic of Stella, the simulcast is not subscription-exclusive. You can watch it free. |

Yeah, it's been a very, very long time since Sentai has used subtitles from Daisuki or CR. The last time I can think of was Koihime Muso, and that was several years ago. You'll even notice differences in the subtitle script between what CR and Daisuki uses, and what Hulu and TAN use. |

Despite Brandon saying its free. Even if it wasn't. Why bother? Its just another shirobako clone and shiro was over the top an manipulative when representing the industry it's exploring. Golden boy exploring the industry in a single episode was more realistic than all these shows representation lol |
