What's the point of this?

No Kenji Kawai, but you get Scourge's horrific androgynous monster face.

Ugh, just give us a full trailer already!

EDIT: Actually, never mind. I'm pretty sure that's what the 11.13 is for.

I am so nervous about this, and I can't really say why. Anticipation is a double-edge sword. I do wish they'd just give us a damn full trailer already, and I can't decide based on these short teasers!

The visuals for all of these teasers have been phenomenal, but I'm still skeptical that this film will be utter garbage.

Oh so thats why it looks bad, I thought it was because the background looked like a wall.

So, they took a scene directly out of the first Oshii movie? I wasn't expecting this.

I hoped it would be an original story within the GITS universe, but I'm now worried it will be a potpourri of "cool" stuff taken from the other GITS installments.

Also, I think the teasers released up to now are all look ming pretty bad. Now I'm hoping for the 11.13 to be the date for the release of a full trailer, so we get a better idea of what's going on.

From the Oshii movies, you mean. From all that I've seen about this movie, the creative staff only seems to be aware of the existence of the Oshii movies - all the visual cues, scenes, etc. I've seen so far seem to be based on them.

It really annoys me of a number of reasons, but mostly because I think GITS:SAC is far superior (the first Oshii movie was good but Innocence was the definition of director masturbation) but in the English speaking anime "scene" it gets a fraction of the attention and respect it deserves.

I'm finding these blink-and-you'll-miss-it teasers make me dislike them further the more I see them. Not in the style or ambiance of the original manga or anime.

I've been hearing they been kind pasting together iconic scenes characters and plot from the movie, TV series (both seasons) and manga.

Looked pretty cool. I'm optimistic about this one the more I see it.

They've already said they're taking inspiration from every GITS source...
- The Oshii movies
- The StandAlone Complex series
- The Manga

Probably visually they're taking inspiration from Oshii. And why not? Artistically and visually this is a good choice. You can already tell from the teasers that they're going for the 'art-house' approach visually, and even if the budget is meagre they can still play around with aspects of a blend of reality/digital fakery, fitting for a theme where the lines between reality and the cyberworld are blurred.

Story-wise, they're taking inspiration from StandAlone Complex. Initially they were looking at the Laughing Man, but they also mentioned recently an episode about a young boy and girl getting cybernetic bodies and Motoko experiences that story through stored memories on a cyberbrain.

As for complaints about the therm optic camoflague suit, was anyone actually expecting anything close to the original's nudity? I agree it could look better, but otherwise the rest of the scene looked great.

I can't remember, but will this film play in 3-D?

They mentionned The Laughing Man as a character, so there will be at least some things taken from the SAC series.
