They should've gone for 20 hours so they can have a full tv show. heh.

Kidding aside, i actually am curious about the OVA and how it will be.

Probably not adults only, that's for sure Sad

I'm sure it'll be cute regardless.

It is more of a sign upon building up a brand and fandom that will return for more.

While not on the same scale of fandom, it is comparable to the beginning of the Love Live franchise which took years of singles and animated promotion videos before striding out with its first anime season.

I haven't backed, yet. Interested sure(have the vns), but Christmas is stretching it thin so if I do my card will squeal... Confused

This project, in turns of success? Well, the median single contribution is ~$150 so far(will lower while more contributions come in though).
If this was an OVA Japanese release, on Bluray, ¥9000(~$78) Limited Edition, on a normal retailer, just to make an example, then sales would be in the ballpark of ~3500 copies(269,351/78), having already crossed the 'Manabi' line with flying colors...

Considering there's 43 days left, even if it'll be relatively slow until the final push, I very much think they have a real chance to reach the final($500,000) stretchgoal.

Now, to back or not to back, uugh...

At the bottom of the KS page in the FAQs it says it won't be 18+, but may have some ecchi material sprinkled in.

Very surprised that the use of animated sprites like in Nekopara hasn't become widespread in other VNs, particularly with how much fandom can be raised by a few frames of animated tits jiggling each time the character has a voiced line.

There are, just not translated ones. Also, this is a relatively new practice for the visual novel industry as the technology/software just wasn't available/mature not too long ago.

I'm probably not going to be able to back this kickstarter, but I'll be looking forward to watching the OVA when it comes out!

With such a overwhelming response, I would think they would try to pursue a 1 cour series at least. Also, I like how they topped out the duration the ova can be to 60 minute, like they have no intention of making it any bigger or multiple OVAs even if people support the kickstart to do so. It's the first time I've seen a Kickstart have a cap on how much money they are willing to take.

As it is, the project is trailing Little Witch Academia 2 from two years ago almost on par.

Oh I assure you, they are more than willing to take more than the 500k. They're just warning people up front that the stretch goals don't extend past that point (though of course that's subject to change).

Honestly I hope they stick to that, because it would mean they're less likely to fall prey to whatever the anime equivilent of feature creep is.
