Interesting. They really are pushing it for everyone to see.

So the first film is a prequel. Guess we will see how it goes.

I didn't expect Eureka Seven movies, so I certainly didn't expect that it would be this ambitious.

I hope the ending for this trilogy is more satisfying than the series. I haven't seen it in years but I remember the series ending was confusing and underwhelming. It's a surprise that they are doing these films; I didn't think the series was particularly popular in Japan.

Wonder if this will get the original dub cast back.

It says that the films (plural) will take place before the series, so I doubt they would need to very much, aside from maybe bringing back Crispin Freeman (which they are capable of doing).

It was. Not a hit like Eva, but it was a hit. Averaged almost 10k per volume and many of my Japanese friends are still familiar with it and fans. I think this'll do okay for Bones. I hope it does.

Cool. Hopefully the story in these movies will actually make some sense for once. If it comes around here (which it might since we got Funi's last 2 DBZ movies) then I'd see it.

They must be very high quality if its a worldwide theatrical release. Looking forward to it, love E7 <3

I'll be watching this. It's not everyday I get to watch an anime movie and since I'll be back in London I'll finally be able to. I've missed out on too much.

I hope this series makes the romance between Eureka and Renton to feel less contrived.

I think only the first film is going to be about the Summer of Love (prequel) and then the rest is a re-telling of the original series with a new ending, so they'd need all the dub cast, I'd think.

Great!
Didn't even expect these in the first place, like Greed said, and can't wait for them, I loved E7. I love that they seem to be treating these like a big thing.

I really hope they get the entire original dub cast (or at least a large amount of them) back for these movies since all of the characters seem like they will eventually be back in these. I hope Funi is willing to do whatever it takes for it, partner with Bang Zoom, etc. This is one of those series where it really needs to happen.

They did do a good job getting JYB and Sheh back for AO and they'll need to get them back again, but this time there's also a lot of others that will be needed too.

Yup. This would be my take too. It specifically also says the films will then have the same basic story as the first Eureka Seven series, followed by an original ending. The synopsis for the film trilogy from Bandai Visual also describes Renton and how the main story of the series kicks off.

I'm curious how much time The First Summer of Love will get. Since there's obviously a lot of main story to cover too.

Hmmm. spoiler[What the Nirvash/Coralian's solution is may indeed be somewhat confusing for some and some might consider it too much of a "fairytale happy ending" for the large cast of characters but at the same time I think that the ending (at least for the characters) is one of the things that majorly contributes to how well the series is remembered by many longtime fans of the series. A "darker" less happy ending might not be well received. I remember reading that BONES/Sato/Kyouda went back and forth a lot on what kind of ending they'd do so it'll definitely be interesting to see what kind of ending they go with this time.]

So, it is likely that the DVD release for the 3rd film will be released here in 2020. That's a nice way to celebrate the 15th anniversary (April 2005) of this series.
