This reminds me of Disneyland. Hopefully we'll also be able to relive the famine of Grave Of The Fireflies and the violence of Princess Mononoke as well.

Thank you, strange person who didn't read the article. Confused

It's not a theme park (okay, how many opened the article with their own wacky punchline, or thinking that fan-mockup theme park was real?): It's at the Aichi Expo Park, where the '05 World's Fair was held, and the Totoro House was one of the more popular exhibits.
And, like many permanent survivors of temporary World's Fairs, the prefecture decided to make the Totoro House permanent for tourism, only open it up to a larger area of the house's neighborhood.

They'd kept wondering where to put it after the '05 Expo--and I always thought it would have made good historical value next to that "Historical storefront" museum that inspired Spirited Away--but nice to see that they've finally made a decision, better late than never.
