Just skimming through this this looks incredible. And is that Ikuhara-style black on red I see??? I hope this gets a dub, specifically one that doesn't try to add any sort of self-awareness at all.

Sounds like the sort of show you would see on Anime Abandon.

The show sounds amazing. If the next arc of the show turns out to be anywhere as crazy as the first one, please do another column on it. I want updates.

On another note, as someone who went to a (non-Catholic) boarding school, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if my classmates had started holding satanic seances.

So it transpires that the animated Father Ted spinoff took quite a few more creative liberties than anticipated.

I skipped this thinking it was going to just be homo-erotic priests solve mysteries. Only 4 episodes in and we have triple hitler? I have to get in on this.

This show...just...wow.

I was initially interested in Vatican Miracle Examiner for a few reasons: Catholic priests solving mysteries?!, what fun! Hiraga's character design is really nice...ahem...! And Junichi Suwabe...I don't need to say much more.

I have continued to watch Vatican Miracle Examiner however because of one reason: How RIDICULOUSLY AWESOMELY BAD it is! It's so bad it's good, and I can't wait to see what else they come up with after this. I mean it's gotta be better than Nazis right?! I too am hoping for Vampires! Get in on the Hellsing train!!!

Seriously though, this review made me die of laughter. So thanks guys...was truly wonderful! Do another one after the next arc!!!!

I won't be watching this show, but reading people comment about it sure is amusing.

So I take it this show hasn't been an accurate portrayal of Christianity? Maybe it's that I'm Jewish, but nothing stuck out to me in the show besides the surprise at the child sex abuse, and even that can be explained by how deeply the church is in denial.

It never ceases to amaze me how anime interprets (or misinterprets) world history and culture. Vatican Scooby Doo sounds like an amusing train wreck, but I will stay way from it because don't need more stupid in my life.

Holy carp. I was interested in Vatican Miracle Examiner because I love (often terrible) mystery anime and seeing Catholicism/Christianity portrayed (often horribly) in anime is pretty entertaining. But what even is this show?! I never got around to watching it, but it seems I need to start now!

Part of me feels like the author tried to be as Catholic as possible, but he asked an anti-Catholic Protestant or maybe a nominal Catholic about how the Catholic Church works. An anti-Catholic Orthodox should at least have a better idea about how Catholics work, though he may have trolled the author to screw with the papists. At the very least, the rumor that the Catholic Church was in cahoots with Nazis is older than this anime.

I would laugh if there was a demon later on in the series that was immune to acid only to be defeated by a base. SCIENCE 101!

Conveniently, this show with a cast of exclusively Catholic clergy sidesteps any mention of abortion. Don't want to get political, after all.

I take it this person hasn't watched much anime? Even the other anime with lots of "Catholic" themes/symbols never mention abortion: Trinity Blood, Helsing, Blue Exorcist, Chrono Crusade, every single yuri anime set in a "Catholic" school... etc etc.
