Ugh, to wrap all this up in 2 eps, it's going to be such a rush job. It's bad enough that they missed two air dates due to 'production issues'.

I'm looking forward to any stories that come out and explain what a circus this production must have been. o.O

Was wondering what happened to this week's episode. Good to know at least something about what's going on.

And even as someone who has not read the source novels, I don't see how it can finish adequately in only two episodes from where it is now. I was under the impression all along that it was pacing for two cours.

Hopefully they'll announce next season before another 13 years

Riiiight? I mean they spent FOUR episodes just having Sousuke play Rock'em-Sock'em-Robots with his giant Figma and Red-Headed-Chidori and they just killed her anyway. Most of that side plot was entirely inconsequential. For a 24-26 episode anime, okay, but if you're trying to compress an arc into 12 eps? That's literally 33% of your running time. o.O Meanwhile we got this Amalgam/Mithril war going on that we're totally ignoring for most of that duration?

They will adapt the 9-th novel just fine in last 2 eps. The question is if we get the second cour, like Gatoh promissed during this season announcment, to cover remaning 3 novels.

I want to believe that another cour is being made. FMP IV has been so great, and it would be a shame to not see the story completed.

I can’t see this wrapping in two more episodes. I’ve been sort-of spoilered for the remaining content by Super Robot Wars V, which covers the ending from the source material. I just don’t see that being covered in not much more than 40 minutes of screen time.

Possibly a few OVAs to wrap things up around the end of the year?

I read the novels a few years ago, and we still have a bit more to cover. 3 more novels to be exact. Invisible victory covers 3 volumes, so a season 6 is very likely. That said, this season kinda skipped an arc, so I'm curious how that's going to play out...

Putting production issues aside, this does make me wonder if FMP! IV will pull a Golden Kamuy where Golden Kamuy was planned for split 2-cour but the 2nd cour wasn't announced until after the 1st cour ends.

This will eliminate my concern of a lack of continuation due to a lot of people not watching or talking about this show.

I'm pretty certain they mentioned early on that they planned for 2 seasons.

Most likely the next season will take awhile and might be announced at the end of this season.

That skipped arc was released as the audio drama around the end of the last year.

And the DVMC arc is pretty inconsequential. It’s much more humorous, like the earlier novels, so it’d feel out of place between TSR and IV. There’s only one important scene at the very end, and it’s not really all that necessary (just some character development for Tessa) because all it does is make something explicit that was already very clearly implicit.

For DVMC, I heard the 2 biggest revelations were that:
1. Sousuke spoiler[ admits to Tessa he likes Kaname]
2. spoiler[Kalinin meets up w/ Tessa's bro in a bar, indicating that he's a traitor]

And yea, other people were saying on FB that to properly close out the series, you'd only need another 12 ep season. I have some hope that this will happen! C'mon Japan!!

Don't worry, they will. Hopefully sooner than later.

For all I see merchandise is selling well (judging by the availability on CDJAPAN) and it's being praised a lot.
