The (ongoing) manga adaptation of Angels of Death added some (IIRC) manga-exclusive backstory chapters for Danny and Eddie that covered their pasts and motivations for killing.
A very brief part of Danny's past was shown in Ep 1, but none of Eddie's was shown. I'm not sure if the anime intends to incorporate this manga content for later episodes (perhaps for the final internet-only episodes?) |

The anime did incorporate one thing about Eddie from the manga--what he looks like under the mask, which is never shown in the game--so I wouldn't be surprised if the extra episodes contained the various backstories. At the same time, I wonder how that would fit with the pacing; would they just tack them on after the final episode? That'd dampen the effectiveness of the ending, I think.
One thing to note about Ray and Zack is that their relationship absolutely isn't intended to be read as romantic. I mean, Ray's 13 and Zack's in his twenties, so. That's one reason. Their dynamic is a lot more complicated than that, too. The kabe-don isn't in the game, FWIW. As an adaptation, it's generally okay so far, minus the pacing issues in the first episode (which were kinda unavoidable if they wanted to get to "please kill me" that quickly), but why wasn't there any music during the "I swear to God" scene? The game had some kickass music there that really heightened the emotions, but the anime just...didn't bother, and the scene suffers for it. It's one of the key scenes in the story, so I'm pretty disappointed. |

This ones giving off the same levels of weird as Dansai Bunri no Kuraimu Ejji and I liked that in a 'love it hate it' sort of way.
The first episode had me shouting "HEEEEEEERE'S DANNY", while the second episode had me thinking "is this scythe nut job meant to be 'Zack' The Ripper?". Regardless I think this show will keep me mildly entertained. |

I hated the "dramatic music" during that "I swear to god" scene, It made the scene so cringy to me. I much prefer the way they did it in the anime as that scene wasn't anything special for me in the game. The point was to show how much "god" is important to rachel and it did its job especially with the scene afterwards, the scene of him swearing was so sudden that making it dramatic turns off the viewer cause its like "well that came out of nowhere" |

To each their own, I suppose. I know other people who were disappointed by the lack of music. Even if you didn't like what the game used, it's weird that there wasn't any music, isn't it? It's a dramatic scene, and it would've benefited from it. To me, and the other people I know who've played the game, that scene signifies an important shift in Ray and Zack's relationship; she stops wanting to die in a general sense and now specifically wants to be killed by him, not anyone or anything else. So it is a bit noteworthy, in that sense, and the soundtrack should've acknowledged it. Sometimes a lack of music can enhance a scene, but that wasn't the case here.

Good to hear at least some nice things about this show.
I've been enjoying it so far. episode 3 was rather healing in a way and the music helps in this respect |

An awesome series, I will definitely be following this one! Although, I think there's maybe a bit of a romance possibility between the two.
Is the reviewer new? He has a refreshing style that gives away the fact he actually enjoys anime. A rarity on this site |

To doing episode reviews, at least. He started doing episode reviews last season with Tokyo Ghoul:Re and Wotakoi, but he has been a contributor to the This Week in Anime column since before then. |

I agree, however it is helpful if you report the post instead of simply poking at the situation. That way the mods can handle it. There were no reports for this discussion. I only found it by stumbling into this thread because the show interests me so I was checking out the discussion on it. Now with that said the back and forth where we insult and criticize the reviewers personally stops right now. I have removed several of those posts. That sort of pointless and OT shit talking is not going to fly anymore. I would also point out all of the reviewers like anime as they are doing reviews for an anime website. It's not as if they can't go elsewhere if they wanted to do other types of reviews, or some other form of journalistic endeavors. |

Angels of Death is one of those shows where it is useful to watch two episodes to see what type of show it is. The comedy and character relationships are really good and they don't appear until the second episode. I was somewhat lukewarm about the show after watching the first episode but by the end of the third episode I think it looks promising. The serial killer otome competition between Zack and Edward Mason was a great idea and I am curious to see what happens with the future villains.

Here's the ED with subs:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=5&v=nawmSYj6Cok It's a pity Crunchy didn't sub them, it's more of a character song for Rachel |

Loving this series and agree with everything the viewer has said.
You act like that's a good enough reason. |

Admittedly I'm not far into the game (which I picked up a few days ago) or the show at the moment, but having just checked it out... I'm not really feeling it as an adaptation?
I dunno, maybe it gets better but judging off the first episode it feels like it's moving way too fast through material that's not that substantive to begin with and the characters don't quite feel right to me. Plus I prefer the game's more cartoony art style but that's a minor quibble. |
