It'd be nice if they actually licensed the ORIGINAL Yamato anime and released it unedited with remastered video for the West.
I'm not holding my breath for a new dub. If the Starblazers fans want their dub, at some point some company will actually do a decent job of remastering it and releasing it in a GOOD DVD set (hopefully while 5-inch media is still viable!). I frankly think Voyager Entertainment dropped the ball on BOTH the classic Yamato anime and the remake when they were handling that. Nice to see there was still interest in Yamato when Funimation finally got their turn to release the remake!
I'm afraid with the emphasis on the remake (2199 and 2202) that the original series is being glossed over. That's one of the things I DON'T like about remakes.
And not all of the changes made to 2199 were appreciated, either, by fans of the classic series.
