Wow, definitely wasn't expecting Aki Toyosaki to voice her. Still, I'm happy we'll get to see Rin animated at last, even if we won't see more of her until the next season.

It was also announced that Brina Palencia will play her in the dub:

Fantastic choice. Just solidifies how amazing the JP cast for the "1st season" (as it's officially called)

also for what it's worth, Ai Otsuka officially romanizes her name as Ai Otsuka, as you can see here on the Video for "Chime" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3RJqEL2uHiE as well as on her social media accounts https://twitter.com/ai_otsuka99 https://www.instagram.com/aiotsuka_official/ https://www.facebook.com/aiotsukaofficial

I didn't expect Lin to appear in this first season. But I am happy that finally the horse has her anime adaption. But why now? I mean, I was waiting her and rooster for the "second season".

spoiler[Btw, First season didn't addapt the break up of Haru and Lin and his angry because of this. As I remebered this was in the first adaption.]

I hope season 2 gets announced soon. And the article might want to point out that Funimation has scheduled the BD/DVD release of the first 13 episodes of this new series for November 19.

My assumption is that they'll just have spoiler[the stinger in Chapter 48 as a teaser for the next season.]

I'm so excited to actually see previously manga-only characters finally be animated! The wait for Season 2 is going to be rough.

It's awesome to finally see more characters from the Manga make it into the anime, especially Rin. I wasn't expecting we'd see her until the next season.

Aki Toyosaki wasn't who I was expecting at all, but seeing her as a cool, sexy, beauty should be fun. Brina Palencia should also do a great job on the English side.

I too had a feeling that Aki was going to be in this adaptation.

On the one hand, happy to see Rin's finally being adapted into anime form. On the other hand, timing seems a bit abrupt to include her considering the final episode of the current "season" will be airing this Friday unless she exists as a sort of teaser for events to come in the next series.

The Fruits Basket reboot has been a beautiful adaptation and I’m excited to start getting into material the original anime didn’t cover as I never got to read the manga and this will be my first time with the new content.
