Yo TOKYOPOP, howzabout you stop wasting money like that and spend that money elsewhere, like hiring competant translators and such? Your "caucasian-manga" leaves little to be desired.

You are aware that half of the winners are of Asian descent, right?

So according to your mangled idiom, it is full of richness and quality, yes?

I also wish Tokyopop would concentrate on Japanese stuff, or at least that they'd stop pushing "global manga" so much. One of the first two "manga" ever to be published in my country -labelled and promoted as manga- is Princess Ai (the other is Shin Angyo Onshi). Apparently when the publisher company contacted Tokyopop, this was the best offer they received. Princess Ai.

For goodness' sake, Tokyopop. Rolling Eyes I know that money is important and all, but if you're so reluctant to sell the rights of Japanese manga, how about promoting some quality stuff, at the very least?

Actually, Princess Ai was published in Japan as well as the US, and the character designed by Ai Yazawa. So while it is still an OGM, it is closer to what you might consider being "manga" as compared to some of Tokyopop's other OGM titles.

Also, Tokyopop only has the rights to certain titles in certain countries. That's why the company is only able to publish the two Star Wars manga in the UK, or why they have the rights to Bleach in Germany but not in the US.
