I'm going to predict it now: The main protagonists will be aged up just as they were in the live-action Japanese adaptation.

Is this what Amazon Prime is wasting their money on? They can't even arrange tapings due to COVID-19. For God's sake.

Quote:
Rodney Rothman (Spider-Man: Into The Spiderverse) is directing the adaptation, and Meghan Malloy (Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse) is writing the pilot.

Awesome. Sounds promising

Quote:
Rothman is an executive producer with Masi Oka (Heroes, Netflix's live-action Death Note film, Hollywood Attack on Titan film)

RIP this Live-Action series

This is getting out of hand...now there's two of them!

That aside, you guys shouldn't scream doomsday because of the producer alone. The talent of the writers and directors should be what matters.

I won't be surprised if they casts adults(18 to 25 year olds) as ''teenagers", but the younger ones will be casts as kids-as-actual kids. Ugh. Rolling Eyes

At least the setting isn't too weird or Japanese so it won't get butchered through whitewashing. And in comparison to the Japanese version can actually match character designs more accurately. This shouldn't be hard, but y'know.

Did all the good Western comics get used up? It feels like it.

Still, this makes more sense than day, Outlaw Star.

I'm not familiarized with this manga but on one hand we have the writer of Spider-verse but on the other we have the producers of Death Note '17

I found it interesting precisely because all of the kids are so young. Once you get to Hunger Games or Maze Runner ages, their feats and deceptions are no longer compelling.

I actually have a lot more faith in this than in that OPM live action film. Promised Neverland already has a Western setting and cast which should make the transition to live action easier. And most importantly it doesn't have the same creative team responsible for that Venom movie.

This is exactly the kind of story that would work well in live action.

Here is to hoping... Rolling Eyes

Exactly my thoughts as soon as I read that.

Let's hope they cancel this before they sully Yakusoku no Neverland as they did with Death Note.

Usually, only kids would watch elementary grade movie protagonists. On the other hand, the general public would watch teenagers.
