Noice, always wanted to watch it and probably get it to before it vanishes of again. I hope they release the soundtrack too or include it with the release (somehow lol, one can only hope).

Sorry, I don't know anything about Sentai Filmworks, how does that work? I want to see this anime and it says it'll be available in my country, but I don't know how xD
Is it another platform like crunchyroll or Netflix and that kind of stuff? |

This announcement is so utterly unbelievable, but I am super stocked for this! Hareluya II BØY is such a great series, some chintzy, late 90s late-night animation notwithstanding, but it was so utterly forgotten about that it's never even gotten anything better than VHS & LD over in Japan. When BØY started getting streamed over in Japan early last year I kind of figured that there might have been some sort of license happening, since there'd really be no reason for the production committee to gather together after all this time, otherwise.
BØY is a King Records title, so it wouldn't exactly be impossible for Sentai to also get the soundtrack, ala Infinite Stratos. That said, though, I highly doubt it, even though BØY's OST is excellent.
Anything by Sentai or Maiden Japan is automatically guaranteed to get added to Hidive, so there's that, depending on if your country has Hidive. If not, I'm sure Sentai offers stuff on other services, though off the top of my head I'm not sure where. |

Sentai Filmworks licenses shows and releases them on home video. When they also get streaming rights, they primarily make shows available for streaming on HiDive, but they've also made their shows available on other streaming platforms (notably on VRV prior to Sony's acquisition of Crunchyroll). |

Also, with "Funiroll" looming on the horizon, Sentai will need to pivot in direction somewhat, since it likely won't be able to grab as many simulcasts as before. In that case, they'll need to back up whatever simulcasts it does grab (like Lupin Part 6) with other "new" content for Hidive, even if it's simply older anime that have never been licensed for English release before. I'm all for that, to be honest. |

Same here. I loved when they picked up the '80s Glass Mask out of the blue and hope they'll keep up the distribution of random older titles. |

You could say the same about REIDEEN back in 2014, and yet I'm just excited for this as I was for that. Any anime broadcast within my lifetime without fansubs getting an official English release is a guaranteed buy in my book, no matter how crappy it is in execution. |

It fills me with joy to see extremely obscure anime titles like this be licensed. This didn’t even have an english Wikipedia article until today. Prior to 2020, this was extremely hard to find online, except for some episodes in low VHS quality. It’s amazing that Sentai is going to release it on home video, considering that it was only released on VHS & LaserDisc in Japan, decades ago. However, high quality digital prints have been released in Japan since 2020. Also, I am really glad to see another major anime distributor other than Discotek licensing obscure anime. I hope to see more rare pickups like this in the future.

Sounds a lot like what happened with Dragon Quest Dai 91 because that show never got on DVD in Japan despite getting remastered for a TV broadcast in the mid-00s. It probably had to do with the manga author getting sick at the time but still, it was quite the surprise when the Blu-ray Box was announced (along with the details of it being a 35mm show hence Toei not having it upscaled like usual) then was released.last year. |
