No surprise here seeing as how they only have 1 novel left to adapt.

A general question for all the Strike the Blood fans: Is it worth it to read the light novels? I really enjoy the OVA's, but do they omit anything to warrant reading them? Let me know...thanks!

Man, I haven't watched this in years. I remember liking it, though.

It's really cool that the novels were fully adapted. At some point I'll probably go back and re-watch the first season and just watch all of the anime through to the end.

The Final Strike the Blu-ray is finally dated. Gonna enjoy binging this. Glad Risa was able to return and finish this. Wish she did the same for SnS.

Except it wasn't fully adapted. The OVA releases skipped a few volumes: 1st season covered 1-6. II covered 9, 11-12. Hence things not making sense when watching. So "complete" or "fully" isn't be the correct term.

They reached the end of the series by skipping volumes. That's it.

It is still really nice to see a LN series this long have its ending animated. The only other one that I can think of off hand that wasn't a pretty long time ago is Oregairu.

So the anime is a pretty bad adaptation. Some volumes were skipped (including the best one in my opinion). I would say the LN are worth reading; just a word of warning. Theres light novels that read well like Mushoku Tensei, Spice and Wolf and 86....and then theres strike the blood. While "no senpai, this is our fight" never gets old, hearing Koju's powers being described as "as powerful as a tank, and as strong as a hurricane" over and over in each and every volume does.

Ah, I see. Well, I'll still watch all of it at some point. IDK if I'll ever check the novels out though.

CR announced over a year ago they licensed 3 seasons of OVAs, but they’re only streaming 2 after all this time… how much longer is it gonna take?

While there appears to be only 1 volume left - the 3 skipped volumes mentioned by commenters notwithstanding - from the perspective of one who hasn't read the LNs, it appears that they have a lot of ground to cover in 4 installments, even if they are 45 minute OVAs instead of 22 minute episodes. From my memory there are at least 3 different big bads still active, though I suppose revealing that they are all working together - which would be to the surprise of absolutely no one - would allow that to be taken care of in a single "final confrontation." There is also the MC's massive harem. (Not to the absurd levels as Touma's from the Index series, but still bigger than most.) At last check there was this hilarious situation involving:

some girls are fine with sharing the MC in a harem
some girls who want the MC to themselves
some girls who are in love with the MC but haven't admitted it to themselves yet
still more girls are on the outside but want in (harem or otherwise)

It would take 4 episodes just to tie all that up!

It's weird saying this, but as far as I've read, you're really not missing much. The light novels are fun. But despite always being a so-so adaptation, the anime series already catches the essence of the novels so well, so once you move on to the novels, you might feel like you'll have better stuff to read.

Strike the Blood has always been a sorta cheesy series. So I think going to the novels is only worth it if you're that much interested in the details as a fan.

It sucks that STB never seems to have caught on in the US market like it so clearly has in the Japanese one. The TV series is a personal favorite and I binge read each new LN the day Yen releases them.

I've enjoyed being able to watch the first two OVA's on Crunchyroll, but I greedily want the rest to stream, or even better, get a physical blu ray release in the US.

In my wilder dreams, season 1 would get a physical re-release with an English dub too... Very Happy
