At last! I was a little behind on some of the manga published on the platform, and this way I won't miss central chapters. Smile

What happens if you accidentally start a chapter and then skip to the next one by mistake?

Sick! This is amazing news for people like me that don't live in the US and are thus unable to get a subscription for Shonen Jump (not sure if some countries can, but at least not where I live). I have to say that I love reading physical manga and have plenty to read still, but I will definitely make use of this if the pile of unread physical manga runs out.

That's some excellent news! Now I can finally read Jujutsu Kaisen without having to put up with our atrocious print version. Also thinking about Undead Unluck and Even If You Slit My Mouth. Probably not much else in there for me, though. Maybe there's another rom/com gem hidden in the mix, might have to take a peek or two. Recommendations are welcome^^

There's witch watch, which is super cute and by the same author of Air Gear and Blue Box, which doesn't have much com but for sure has a lot of rom.

Think you've got that mixed up. Witch Watch is by Kenta Shinohara, the creator of Sket Dance and Astra Lost In Space.

Even If You Slit My Mouth is great, highly suggest!

I assume you're out of luck. The once restriction seems a bit draconian. Not even anime streaming sites do that.

SAKAMOTO DAYS is hilarious and amazing, and there's really nothing quite like it.
The Elusive Samurai (by Yusei Matsui of Neuro/AssClass fame) is pretty entertaining, if you don't mind the edutainment vibe being ramped up to 11.
Choujin X (by Sui Ishida of Tokyo Ghoul fame) is also fun, and feels like a less cynical Devilman.
Doron Dororon and PPPPPP are also good (and I need to pick them back up from the chapters I missed), but they're both in the U18 league so the axe may be imminent.

And then there's Diamond in the Rough, which isn't part of this campaign (it's a Jump Plus series, so already 100% free), but has great characters and rock-solid world-building.

So what does that say for titles like 'Tis Time for "Torture," Princess' that already had all chapters for free? I'd want to assume the read once restriction wouldn't apply, but you never know.

All chapters of series that aren't also in the Shonen Jump service are still completely free. Including past and present Shonen Jump+ titles that Viz hasn't licensed. 'Tis Time for "Torture," Princess is one of these, so it is entirely free.

The list in this article seems to be all English language titles that are actively being released. The ones where First Read Free applies to is a subset of that.

I suppose it's possible this could change at some point, but that wouldn't make sense for titles that are only available through Manga Plus. Rather, this seems like a compromise between the Manga Plus and Shonen Jump services. It allows new readers to catch up without the $2/mo barrier (which is low, but still is more than free) that could lead some people to pirate instead.

I did notice that Monster #8 is subject to First Read Free though. Which is strange, since they continue to translate it separately from Viz's far better (from what I can tell) Kaiju No. 8 translation. Maybe that is about to change.

Damn. I just realized this means I can re-read all chapters of Seraph of the End from the beginning and finally make sense of what the hell's been going on.

Yea, real draconian of them to allow users to read their titles once for free without having to pay or anything. Rolling Eyes

Lol, this makes me wonder. I haven't tried it myself, but can't you just open the site with different internet connection or device? Now I'm curious if it's somewhat exploitable this way. It doesn't seem to require logging in (or even have any means of making an account in the first place afaik).

I intend to read my spares, but if I accidentally pressed something that gets me out of the chapter, I would definitely try it with another device.

Anyway, I hope a year span opportunity would be enough for me to read the entirety of One Piece (I'm a slow reader, pardon me). And I need to catch up with Jujutsu Kaisen, Twins Exorcist, World Trigger, and some more Jump Plus titles.

Sad that finished titles don't get unlocked, kind of interested in continuing Bleach. Also Blue Exorcist seems to be included in the exception list despite still part of the ongoing titles.

Oh, that's right. I somehow always mix up Air Gear and Sket Dance.
