Best girl gets spinoff with a great artstyle, you love to see it.

As a fun fact, the artist is also a pretty popular hentai artist. Good for him that he can now also make something like this.

Was the Roxy spinoff, just as serious as the main story? I always thought it was a comedy parody of Roxy's adventures. Which is why I never read it.

This looks pretty cool! The adventures of Eris! I hope this gets licensed and brought over to the West...also looks like her hair grew back a little from her cut in the final episode.

first ruel about Roxy spinoff, you have to at least have read ln 13 to avoid getting spoiled.

and its mostly serious, it has some comedy moments, but that won't be putting you off it, unecesary Roxy fanservice might, too.in my case Roxy is not the kind of
character i enjoy fanservice of, but 8 managed to ignore it just fine.

Its a combination of serious and comedic with the occasional light fanservice. This focuses on Roxy's backstory from her childhood with her decision to leave her home and become an adventurer to her student days in the academy that she would later recommend to Rudeus.

Unlike the Roxy spinoff that has several volumes, this will probably be more on the short side much like the new manga that focuses on the events of vol 7 of the LN because once spoiler[Eris joins the Sword Sanctum, she stays there for years until she considers her training sufficient. In fact, the LN spares a short chapter every volume on how Eris' training is coming along while Rudeus continues with his adventures so the manga will likely be based on those.]

Question for LN readers:

I just finished the anime today and was blown away. I want to read the light novel, but I heard about potential cut paragraphs and such in the English print versions. I also heard they intended to re-release some things, though, too. Anyone have advice on what editions I should purchase and/or check out? Are all known cuts fixed yet?

Ideally, my goal would be to get a non-censored English release, but if someone has made a documentation of every English volume cut online, I'll gladly just buy from my local bookstore and use that extra resource as a supplement.

(As a professional translator, the Japanese volumes would be fine, but I'm a slow Japanese reader and I zone out a lot when reading paragraphs for leisure, so English is a convenience thing.)

So seven seas censored volumes 1 through 9 of the MT LNs when they were first released. They were caught and have since revised them and released new versions of those volumes. Heres the issue though, they never pulled the original censored versions. Asa result, for a while both the Revised Edition (the one you want) and the First Print editions were both in circulation at the same time. The only guarantee you would get a revised edition one would be to go to a physical book store and check the copright page to make sure it said Revised Edition.

That may be less of an issue now, since all volumes have been out of print at one point or another. Its very hard to get physical copies of MT due to its increased poularity and paper shortages. The upside is all of the First Editions should be out of circulation by now.

If you choose to go digital, all of this can be avoided as all of the censored versions have been changed to the Revised Edition versions digitialy.
