Well, if that cast doesn't scream "funimation" I don't know what will. Side note, when was the last time Linda Young was in a dub?

Jordan Dash Cruz in his first lead role and you can't go wrong with Jad Saxton and Kristen McGuire when it comes to female leads.

Also eschewing the JP's side hard 2000's era Bishonen seiyuu for all the top male Funimation VA's for the capture targets.

Not that this cast isn't great, but I am kind of missing some of the nice surprises you'd find in a remote recording dub.

Also, Taisho Otome Fairy Tale getting dubbed! Finally! I guess it'll be a full drop eventually.

I don't get that. FT has been a hit for both CR and Funi. One would think by now that the Japanese would have let either party would have those video epi. for streaming and home video with an Eng. dub.

My understanding is that it's harder to license OVAs than normal series since they're usually considered a seperate license.

they are also manga exclusive releases, so that just makes it far more difficult

In regards to Fairy Tail, those OADs are pretty much in the same boat that Attack on Titan's were where they need a home video release in Japan (outside of manga volumes) before any licensing can happen.

With Attack on Titan OADs, Funi's licensing announcement was made the same week Japan announced the OAD Archive Blu-ray back in December.

I've never heard of Jonathon Rigg looks to be his first ADR directing job.

Because it's a typo, it's his third.

I remember several Negima OVAs being manga exclusives as well, so exclusive many of us didn't know they existed. Like we now wish for UQ Holder. Bazing!

Thanks for that. We had just copied the names verbatim from Crunchyroll's article, which had Jonathon instead of Jonathan. I've fixed the spelling in our article.

He also was the guy who used to work on the Nintendo Direct presentations, pretty new to CR/Funi.

At this point, I think we can pretty safely assume Crunchyroll will dub predominantly in Texas. They now have access to an in-house recording studio/network, the Funimation Youtube channel was renamed "Crunchyroll Dubs" despite not involving Crunchyroll, and the first season of the now merged service has had Texas-based casts for anything new.
