Unfortunate that this happened. It looks like Eureka gets to take care of Puni-chan all by herself again. This is the sequel I did not expect.

She decided to announce this because her child recently entered elementary school

Eureka in Pocket Monsters XY series

Crazy that it has been (a couple weeks shy of) 7 years already. I remember it like it was yesterday and Mika Kanai voiced Eureka as a substitute while Ise was on maternity leave from XY episode 86 to 100 (Funny enough that Ise sang Puni-chan no Uta ending song that starts on episode 94 so they got her to sing it before she left), which was from August 27 to December 10. Then Ise announced on September 4-5 that she had the baby a few days ago. I miss XY. Those were good times.

It said in the article that she debuted in Aishiteruze Baby, but she's not listed in the anime's encyclopaedia entry nor is that anime listed in Ise's roles page. What gives?

According to wikipedia, https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/伊瀬茉莉也, she seemed to play minor character, Ayumi's friend. Ayumi looks to be minor character too, so she was probably missed off the encyplopedia update just as an extra.

Eureka is where I remember her most, too. Was a big fan. Still have the song on my iPod since it debuted on the character disc. XY was the only series I watched religiously week to week, thanks to the great acting, characterization, and story buildup.

I wish her the best. Being a single mom is not fun, especially not in Japan where daycare situation is harsh.

I didn't even remember that she had a kid

Also I'm kinda disappointed the article doesn't mention Urara from Precure.

Yeah, I think this is why she is announcing this now when her child can go to elementary school now. Child care between 0 and 6 is rough in Japan. It is rough AF.
