I'm very sad cause she's my favorite member of Nijigasaki but I know that her health comes first. I wish her the best.

This is absolutely terrible news indeed. I love Setsuna and Nijigasaki is my favorite Love Live iteration. I hope she does eventually recover.

Very sad to hear. I’m sure it is tough for her to have to make this decision.

Oh wow, never thought I'd see Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome mentioned here. As someone with EDS as well, I definitely feel for Kusunoki-san. As the doctors said, it's not something you really recover from and just have to live with it. It varies a lot in severity, but luckily most of the time it can be managed fairly simply. The good news is she will probably be able to keep voice acting other roles, as long as it's not too strenuous. Backing out of Love Live makes sense as the public performances are a lot more intense and can easily cause injuries to people with EDS, especially with Joint-type. Wish her the best going forward!

Sad to hear this news but at least she can still do voices. Love her in Heaven Burns Red too and she seems to be continuing that

Sad to hear she's sick. I love her voice.

And I don't care what ANYONE says, I like her as Makima and I think the voice fits perfectly. Come at me!

Besides the listed roles, Kusonoki also voiced Kanade from Project Sekai which, despite probably never approaching Love Live levels of physical activity, does appear to be interested in putting on the occasional live performance (and looking back sure enough she was the only one in her unit not to perform in the live on late September), so I'm hoping Sega can work around her condition and not have to recast.

That sucks for Kusunoki-san, but I hope this works out for the best for her, health-wise.

It's less her being sick and more something she was born with that makes her more likely to be injured during live performances (dancing, jumping, lots of movement) with Love Live. Her voice will be fine, and as long as she does roles that don't involve vigorous movement during live performances, her body should be fine too.

I hope she’s still able to sing! She had one of the stronger voices in Nijigasaki.

They already had her sitting out for group songs, performing solos without dancing, and doing other performances sitting down. But it sounds like even those things were exacerbating her condition.

She requested to step down from Love Live franchise not like staff force her. All group members and vip want her to stay.

Sega will not recast her, she too popular. Also prosekai no need to perform hardcore dance like love live.

For me this actually is more proof that the American Dream exists, because I did some writing from here https://happyessays.com/free-essays/american-dream/ for school and I understood how much it matters for any person to have a purpose in life, that's why I started watching anime and playing PC games because until this my mother forbade me to do this and I felt unhappy. cause injuries to people with EDS, especially with Joint-type. I didn't know this, it's really nice that my favourite 'actress' is doing this too.
