The thing is... does the part about the serialization switching up mean that HxH moving out of WSJ to the other Shueisha magazine after all?

Cause if it's that going to happen, well, that's going to free a new regular free slot for other authors (well, it was already when HxH wasn't on the run, but it can still be one good chance for mid-carders to escape the axes).

It's probably going to stay on WSJ. When Boruto ran on WSJ it had a monthly serialization until it moved to V Jump, likewise Claymore, Rosario Vampire, Gag Manga Biyori, and Tegami Bachi ran monthly on WSJ until they moved into the then-new Jump Square magazine.

I believe that because HxH is a popular series, the editorial board will not let go of HxH but will finally give the support that Togashi has needed to prevent further hiatuses.

It was about average. Togashi made it clear when his Twitter account opened that it was going to be 10 chapters. Apparently those 10 and the next 30 were storyboarded years ago. So imagine this hiatus is to give him rest and time to work on the volume release while they finally figure out a set schedule.

At this point it's just sad.

Glad I only watched anime, even if my fav Leorio barely got a proper screentime.

That was just a temporary deal between the closure of Monthly Shonen Jump (which was a completely different magazine from Weekly Jump, with its own catalog of titles) & the launch of Jump Square, as it only lasted four months. A better example would be Togashi's own Level E, which ran almost exclusively on a monthly basis in Weekly Jump, hence why it's only 3 volumes long, despite running for a little over a year.

As for Hunter x Hunter, I wouldn't be surprised if it just gets moved to online serialization with Shonen Jump+ & is allowed a "whenever the mangaka is ready" pace, similar to when Masami Kurumada's Otoko Zaka was moved over to Jump+ in 2017, who also does a new volume's-worth of content in advance before doing a short serialization burst.

Togashi made it very clear that the manga can only exist if he is allowed to make his own art and ink it. So a hail mary as with Berserk under Sui Ishida or so can´t happen if Togashi loses the ability to hold a pen. Read Sensei Hakusho to learn more.

I just want to ask one thing because I have not stayed caught up with Hunter Hunter in years for obvous reasons like this. There is so many other Manga works out there that deserve my attention and rightfully so because the authors work so hard in keeping a steady pace going. But have they gotten off of the boat yet lol. I would love to see the group actually explore the Dark continent but I am not sure if we have, i think we been sailing on the boat for the last 10 years or so lol.

Yes, there is: a Google search will pull up a hiatus chart.

Ever since one of his earlier hiatuses resulted in a large delay of one of the volume releases because it was 1-2 chapters short of compiling them into a book, Togashi has always done 10-20 chapters when he's able to draw (I assume WSJ had this arranged after that). I'm looking forward to seeing how the new release schedule will turn out in the future.
