Man it really sucks that we never got a second season of the anime, doesn't it?

Yeah, it really does, especially since the anime was so good!

Don't know. Manga really goes downhill ner the end. If they'd ever make a second season, I think they'd better off creating an original story. It can't be worse than the manga, can it?

We did, but it wasn't very good and kind of went off the rails. Would like to see it remade at one point.

I get the joke, guys. The classic “tsukihime” joke, but I wonder if 42 million worldwide circulation is enough to convince aniplex to reboot this franchise.

Why they rush the second season to begin with? What’s with all the utterly nonsensical original contents and slide show finale? I tried to find staff interviews that attempt to answer these burning questions but to no avail.

There's a fascinating tell-all novel waiting to be written about what went down, that's for sure.

Yeah, I have no idea at all why Aniplex/Shueisha/Fuji TV decided to approach the anime like this. Just shot themselves in the foot for no reason.

I think they went that route because of the belief that Noitamina anime don't usually get more than 2 seasons or 2 cours of anime, which is hilarious in hindsight considering what Noitamina is doing now... Urusei Yatsura has aired two cours of anime and will air another two cours in 2024, and Rurouni Kenshin is aiming for two cours too.

So much for making 3 more seasons unprofitable. A ton of money was left on the table here. Likely an 8 figure sum. We will one day find out what the hell that production committee was thinking. The now fully mainstream appealing Noitamina also broke the 2 cour glass ceiling a bunch of times. Psycho-Pass or Nodame Cantabile count, so it´s not just post-TPM examples that can be named.
I get why Berserk adaptations are stuck in the dirt but TPM, a manga I found to be mid but this is about money, is a PG-13 IP with a manageable amount of volumes and 3 Tezuka nominations. It is viewed as a prestige publication in Japan! I would sue if I was Shirai. They lost out on at leach 2 yachts that can be used to water ski behind.

Manga that sell 100k per volume can easily get 2 cours with no issue. PTM sells over 2 million a volume! A check for ep 13-48 writes itself in such a scenario and people would accept literally anything that improves on S2.

It’s just so disappointing that this amazing series still hasn’t gotten a second anime season yet… people have been waiting for years now!!

I know people talk about the second season botching the second half of that story, (I mean, even for the people who didn't read the manga, you can clearly see just a poorly paced and written show unfold regardless) but I heard the manga still ditches the tone the first season had anyway for kids with AKs.

And that's not why I really liked Promised Neverland in the first place. It was a horror show that carried itself on the suspense and tension. It becoming a battle manga as it goes on makes me think that my affinity for the series maybe was never built to last. Makes me hesitate checking out the manga.

Even if the later part of the manga didn't hold up to the sublime tension of that first arc (which honestly wouldn't surprise me), I think everyone just wanted the chance to, y'know, see it and make that determination for themselves. What was so supremely frustrating was that the first couple of episodes were still great, and then...well, we all know the rest.

You can't expect everyone to be in on it.

The only reason I can think of that made the Production Committee go the route it did would be they were still stuck in the phase of anime-is-just-a-long-commercial. Since the manga ended already, they felt like there was nothing to promote anymore. I am sure everyone here knows this is obviously wrong, but it is hard to convince people who are stuck in the past.
