I guess this means they are finally going to dub it? Been a hot minute.

Yeah, it's an odd situation because it seems like they were obligated to have the dub air on Toonami before streaming it, but it's unclear why Toonami waited this long to air it. Maybe they wanted to air it closer to Part 2's release?

Attack on Titan Final Season THE FINAL CHAPTERS Part 2

Do you think they know the title is a joke by this point and are just seeing how far they can push it to attract attention?

I think most likely was the case. Toonami has aired all episodes of Attack on Titan up to this point, and they've been the first to get the new dub episodes aired prior to streaming.

Hopefully both the English and Japanese release will be out then.

Was waiting to see how long it would take for one of this. Joke stopped being funny years ago.

Hard to say which of them was doing the waiting. Dubs for the series have only gone up on streaming after they broadcast on Toonami. I haven't really kept track of Toonami in quite some time, so I don't know if it was waiting for something to finish airing before getting to this.

It hasn't ever been stated that I know of, but if years of prior history is any indication, it is possible that Toonami has some sort of contract that gives it dub premiere rights, even if it is only by a day.

This was certainly the case for My Hero Academia until the most recent season (or maybe the one before), so I'm guessing this remains the case for Attack on Titan until the end.

It was particularly annoying when the run for an MHA season would inevitably overlap with one of Toonami's special schedules on holidays, pushing back the release date of the dub to three or four weeks instead of two weeks after the sub.
