For those interested AMC announced in a press release dubs for Dark Gathering and Ragna Crimson.

Have to wonder if this one might be part of a package deal. This one made so little impression last year that I'm very surprised it was popular enough to warrant a dub.

Love Flops was one of the best from last Fall, so glad to see it get this dub! Cast is looking good too.

Guess I forgot how fan service-heavy it was. Then it makes total sense, given the track record of Sentai (and ADV before it). |

I don't really think this explanation fits, personally. If we're talking about anime with raw sex appeal, Sentai has done other shows recently that are much higher quality for that demographic, but got passed on for dubbing (just look at Immoral Guild). While I'm sure the sex appeal aspects that do exist in Love Flops were probably a factor, I think the biggest factor in it getting the dub was just the fact that it was a great show with a lot of heart. In terms of original anime without any source material, a show like Love Flops even being created was such a big lightning in a bottle novelty that for its existence alone I couldn't help but respect it. It may not be a perfect show, but for those looking for anything like it (a.k.a. me), it was a huge breath of fresh air considering the current state of the industry. I understand that most casual viewers may not get the appeal of something like Love Flops, but I don't like seeing what's special about it being written off and chalked up to just "sex sells" either... I'm just grateful someone at Sentai and/or HiDive saw what I did in the series, and decided to give it the extra push to get dubbed. |

Love Flops does feature nipple nudity, but only in one or two episodes I believe. That level of fanservice isn't that much of a focus in the TV series. (On the other hand, the show's manga adaptation goes a lot harder on bringing out the fanservice from the various story situations. Unfortunately, no English manga publisher has picked it up.) |

As someone who really enjoyed Love Flops, I'm glad to see it get dubbed. A lot of people dismissed it as a Harem show with cliche's (and it deliberately starts that way) but then it becomes really fun and wacky and then heartbreaking over time. The cast looks pretty solid too.
Also glad they're dubbing Dark Gathering and Ragna Crimson. I hope the cast brings their A-game for those shows. I'm still waiting for them to dub Lieselotte though... |

Unfortunately Sentai didn't dub Lieselotte and it was released on BD only with subtitles in December, But i still hope that Sentai will dub Helck and Insomnia After School later. |

I really love Love Flops and I was disappointed that the show didn't catch while it was airing and now it can only be discussed now by way of spoilers, dismissal or derision. I'm glad to see it's getting dubbed, maybe more people will watch past episode 6 now.

Helck will probably get a dub because it is in the top 30 of popularity on HIDIVE. Insomniacs After School is not a sure thing, but I hope it gets dubbed because it deserves it. |
