I'd honestly rather have more Kong and Zilla and less Planet of the Apes in this series. Maybe it'll be good, but the whole giant gorilla society isn't really for me. I hope there's some new monsters in this one and not just an evil gorilla.

Looks like a Kong movie guest-starring Godzilla but I guess the last movie was basically just Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla with Kong, so it's only fair.
I do feel like Legendary is kind of held back by not being able to mine more of Toho's Kaiju catalog. |

Actually i see this as a way to wrap up Kong's side of the story and shift more focus on Godzilla and maybe introduce more of the classic and new kaiju into the story. Godzilla is one of the few franchises that is still kicking top quality material both from Legendary as well as back home in jp. |

Heres the problem: on a rewatch, i cannot care about the human problems. Kong vs Godzilla has this bad(not as bad as king of the monsters had it but its bad). I do not care about whatever subplot is happening with the daughter, her weird friend, and their conspiracy theory contact. And you know your "main characters" are pretty S*** when the only one i care about and want to learn more about is the mute little girl. Literally of all the human characters, the one who doesn't speak is my favorite. That's pretty bad writing. |

I don't think any of these movies have been particularly that good (though I admit I do like Skull Island quite a bit). The problem has always been way too much focus on stuff that doesn't involve large monsters punching each other while stepping on buildings.

This is doubling down on the shit I hate but the pink Roid Rage Zilla looks alright.
The Monarch show is solid btw. It and Kong are the only 2 entries I liked so far. |

More human on screen = less kaijus on screen = fewer sleepless night for VFX team = less burden on Warner's wallet.
