Kazunari Ninomiya being in the movie is a pretty big deal, at least in Japan it is.

Nintendo has used Kazunari Ninomiya and another Arashi member in their ads for Mario Kart/Super Mario Bros Wii recently and guess what sales of their games have gone up the charts. Arashi boyband is pretty popular in Japan.

Yeah, I'm just still trying to wrap my head around Nino being in something like Gantz, of all things. The disconnect seems so great that I'm not sure I could get into the movie (though to be honest I didn't really care for what I saw of the anime so maybe I wouldn't like the movie regardless). He is a pretty good actor though, so who knows. Maybe I'll be able to tolerate a toned-down, abbreviated movie version.

Just out of curiosity, who's the other member-- MatsuJun, Sho, or one of the other 2 (whose names I can never for the life of me remember)?

Nino recorded the CMs first with Ohno for Super Mario Wii, Matsujun for Mario Kart and Aiba for the latest Mario Galaxy2. The fans are expecting Nino with Sho next for something from Nintendo.

The GANTZ preview looks good.

Still kinda iffy on this movie. I'd rather a reboot of the anime since the manga is wrapping up.

Actually, they're highschool students. It's stated in the first volume of the manga. First years, to be exact. So they're only 16. Unless the movie is changing their ages for some odd reason.

Actually, the movie is changing them to college students. I believe it's because the actual actors are mid-20's, but I could be wrong. Smile

Anyway, I can't wait for this movie! Very Happy I'm so excited and I hope Australia is one of the countries interested in the distribution rights.

Well that's stupid... since when have actors not been able to play characters younger than themselves?

/sarcasm

I guess they're not planning on adapting all that much material, since changing that would require some rather significant changes to elements immediately after the first fight. Either changes or completely leaving things out. Oh well, guess we shall see what they do with it. Either way, I'm looking forward to them.

Okay I have only seen 2 live action shows that were adapted from anime. A Hunter x Hunter stage musical and the Death Note movies.

I really do want to see how Gantz gets adapted into a film. It will probably be kind of off and camp like Death Note but fun in their on right.
