I haven't seen an update for this series in awhile tbh...

Hope to see another season someday though.

A second season of the anime is highly unlikely, since with the manga stopping there will no longer be any point. Most anime exists to advertise, and smart producers don't pay for multi-million-dollar ads for a product that no longer exists.

I really liked the anime (for some reason. Can't put my finger on it xD), so I really hope the manga eventually gets picked up for English publication.

That's true for the most part but doesn't take into account original animations etc. (I know you said most but still) If the original sold well then a second season is likely at some point - but it depends on the studio. Unfortunately I don't recall the original selling that well...I think it may have been average. In that case a second season is pretty unlikely.

I was referring to those anime based on manga or light novels. Original anime productions, while not exactly rare, are special cases with different business models (though many have tie-in manga as well).

I vaguely recall the first season selling alright, not really enough to justify a second season on their own but maybe with a boost to the manga as well . . .

However, as enurtsol pointed out, the manga only ran for a measly four volumes which means there will be very little new material for a second season to adapt. So unless new anime-original material is made or the remaining as-yet unadapted story is dragged out to a ridiculous degree, a second season would actually be virtually impossible. Some franchises go out with a bang and have a movie, but Servant x Service wasn't really big enough to justify that sort of money.

A lot of stuff I'm buying has ended/is ending this year. Still, I prefer short series when it comes to four panel manga. It's really difficult to read...

Yeah, there's no where near enough material for a second season, the first season covered most of volume 3 even. It would have been neat if they had done a DVD with the last volume.
