My Hero Academia looks so much cooler than any of the upcoming Jump Start manga.

I was thinking myself about why My Hero Academia isn't on there. I loved Barrage and I was bummed that it couldn't find an audience; Kohei Horikoshi is a talented writer.

That aside, I think Hi-Fi Cluster is also very nice, and of the four series in this first wave of Jump Start, it was easily my favorite. I can only hope that it doesn't get axed so soon, as it is struggling in the WSJ survey rankings. Then again, unlike Judos or Sporting Salt, its first ranking wasn't at the bottom, so there's still hope for it as people are actually voting for Hi-Fi Cluster.

Seriously, why the eff are we not getting My Hero Academia? It literally makes no sense. Especially now that Naruto is over and we're down an action series.

At least with Assassination Classroom there was a believable excuse!

Wow I am really happy to see some Kouhei Horikoshi and My Hero Academia love here. Very Happy I'd really love for Viz to localize it too.
Guys, Viz is conducting survey and when it asked "What manga would you like us to license?" I replied "My Hero Academia".
Fans gotta let Viz Media know.

The reason for Assassination Classroom not being in Jump is now null and void because Jump is now T+ and allows them to have "greater flexibility" I think we can expect Assassination Classroom at some point as the anime is coming out. They added Food Wars! last week something they had said they would never do in the past. I'm just as baffled by Boku no Hero Academia not being in our Jump it seems like the perfect fit and would probably do well as it is in Japan. I don't think the broadening of Jump's scope of publishable material is any coincidence as they are losing one of their biggest flagship titles though this last sentence is pure speculation on my part.

don't like. please, Japanese fans cancel that Table Tennis manga within next 6 months.

There are way better manga in Shonen Jump than this.

The first chapter hasn't even been published yet. How can you possibly know the quality of this series?

They're releasing the first volume of Assassination Classroom next month, though I'm not sure what they'll do with the series after that.

Just a guess, but I'd say because the author's first two series got axed pretty quickly, and before it was serialized there was, of course, no indication it would be any different. Viz can't afford to do everything that the Americans might like- if the series doesn't do well in Japan they can't make much profit off it here. I wouldn't expect Hero Academia to come over until it reaches at least ch 50, and they know it will stick around a while, like with Nisekoi or Food Wars. Plus if it is licensed it will probably follow Food Wars model: release a few volumes to catch up, then put it in the magzine.

They got the right idea with Food Wars. Release a few volumes then add it to the line up. I hope to see Assassination Classroom and My Hero Accademy in the line up someday.

So why would they choose a new, unproven manga in a genre like sports that has never sold well in America? Their decision to publish Tabletop Ageha before it even starts makes no sense, and their decision *not* to publish Boku no Hero Academia a few good chapters in makes even less sense.

Two different things.

Regarding Takujou no Ageha, it's not so much 'choose to start' so much as 'decline to not start'. Remember that the Jump Start initiative's promise is to give trial runs to practically every new series from now on, barring special circumstances. If the rating had not been bumped up from T to T+, E-Robot could have been an example of an exception. There's no regulatory reason to avoid a trial run of Ageha via the Jump Start program.

Our missing out on Boku no Hero Academia is an entirely separate thing. That's an example of us getting screwed over by timing. Jump Start kicked in the round right after the one with Hero Academia.
Souma took some campaigning over a not insignificant period of time to get in. Hero Academia has a shot; we just have to stay in their ears and keep it up.

Ageha is actually very very funny and entertaining.
Good to have a new series to look forward to every week!
