Mars is clearly the worst one so far. The pose is goofy... I don't like the coloring either. I actually don't like anything about it lol. Hopefully the quality goes back to at least the first two boxsets.

I really don't like how Sailor Mars was featured on the book- the pose looks uncomfortably with her left arm raised upwards.

Her facial features are really crowded in there and her arms look like they were in a car accident. The first two covers are fine, but this is a mess.

This looks incredibly awkward. It feels like they're trying to make the pose look dynamic and powerful, but couldn't figure out where her arms should be. And her confused(?) expression isn't helping either.

I got all excited until I saw the photo for realsies...lol
It looks pretty....bad. Mars has gotten the worst treatment so far in this series...oye. I wish they just did the same poses like the 3rd edition manga. |

Gonna channel my inner Nostradamus by saying that the fourth volume will have Jupiter on the cover.
I don't like the pose either. But I haven't been happy with most of the artwork from this series. |

When I first saw this article, I thought they were talking about the 3rd volume of the new Viz dub for Sailor Moon.

Glad to see someone else say this. Mars was my favourite of the core group in the original anime. She hardly even registers in Crystal. It's a shame. |

Man, the people doing Crystal must HATE Mars. There's everything from her derp face in the opening (NOT fixed for the DVDs/BDs!), to having a poorly animated debut episode (still mostly fixed for the DVDs/BDs), her personality and characterization all-but-sapped from the series, and now a poor, awkward cover design image.

I think...in PGSM (live action) they were definitely more developed as characters than the animated series.
So I suppose if I were to pick any of the 3 incarnations it would be the live action. Though I do like Usagi's character better in this series than the 90's version. |
