Of course people can make mistakes, Amazon isn't perfect. However, I find it unlikely that they would have posted the volume for pre-order without some form of confirmation from the publisher. It's also possible that Kadokawa may have not communicated internally, it's a big business after all.

They might as well change the name of Newtype to Five Star Stories. Newtype seems to be the biggest supporter of Five Star Stories. I stopped getting Newtype last year, because I got tired of all the Five Star Stories covers. Five Star Stories is either huge in Japan, or Newtype is getting money under the table.
