Ah nice to know the premiere will be an hour long. I can't wait for this tbh. Been awhile (well not really that long but felt long) since I've seen an Aquarion series.

I'm curious as to how the new aquarion mecha will turn out and I've been looking forward to this, just wish I had the time to watch it but with my work schedule I might be lagging behind, and Holy hell two posts in (three counting mine) and not One stupid comment about the mecha's combining side effects on the pilots

I didn't say anything but I was thinking it. Really, it's the only thing separating it from Vandread. Ok, better CGI but I don't blame Vandread for it, it's what they could do for their time. So. What's setting this one apart from the first two, a two shot combination of a 12000 year old reincarnation plotline that confused itself more than anything? Wait, we don't know anything and it starts in July? So it's just the Aquarion name and some mediocre and questionable character designs so far? Ok, these series are fun and they do tell complete stories so bring on the third. Just be gentle, ok? |

Assuming that it doesn't bother forcing a continuation outside of maybe a few references and the obligatory Fudo character, it'll probably be better than Evol. spoiler[It probably won't have a blatant contradictory plot like Evol with Amata being Apollo and Mikono being Sylvia, in addition to the early stuff about ignoring destiny and fate and ultimately failing to avoid that.] |

I heard from here that there's a crossover special coming out in the near future. When's that coming out? I can tell that this series won't be that great compared to the first two.
BTW, do any of these series have any continuity with each other? Or are they just separate entries? |

I feel like us folks who like both the original and EVOL are few and far between.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to this with a bit of trepidation. This is the least Aquarion-looking Aquarion show yet, and it doesn't look like Shoji Kawamori is involved this go-around, either. |

The first three (Genesis, OVA/Movie and EVOL) all take place within the same continuity. OVA/Movie (unlicensed) > Genesis > Evol. Logos doesn't look like its related in anyway whatsoever to the previous; spoiler[Unless they pull the "Logos takes place on the world inside Fudo's eye" twist.] |

I still can't get over the absolutely horrible character designs, they really put me off watching this 3rd series, I've seen character designs from the 90s that look better then these ones. I can't wait for the GoA/AE crossover, I am hoping this isn't like the OVA from GoA where the characters were different from the series.

Cautiously looking forward to this, I enjoyed both the original series and EVOL, even if the latter's later episodes did feel a little weak. Glad it's getting an hour long intro episode though, that way it will be easier to get a feel for the show early on.
However I have to say those character designs are definitely polarizing, but I'll reserve final judgement till after I've seen the finished product in action. |
