Streaming services are going to need some work before they become fully viable for the wide market. As of right now it is still too easy to load up an actual game file rather than spend a bunch of data on streaming games. Companies should work on the data issue first and then perhaps more households will be open to streaming.

I predict that Square-enix will try this type of service again after 5-6 years or join with another service to offer Square-Enix games.

Some reason that might account for it are that they might be primarily focused on Japanese gamers and also because some people might prefer a larger screen to play their games.

I remember the godawful screenshots last year of FFVII with the clunkiest touch control overlay ever and can only think: "good riddance."

As it often happens with these fads, mobile gaming didn't turn out to be the console-killer so many made it out to be. Naturally, certain styles of games have come to be accepted as good for mobile platforms and other styles continue to be accepted as good for consoles. Trying to force-feed console games into mobile devices is a (now proven) terrible idea, especially in a streaming business model.
