Resident Evil Classifieds: Security Zombies Wanted for Live-Action Film Premiere

posted on by Jennifer Sherman

If those part-time retail and fast-food gigs aren't enough to make ends meet, becoming a zombie could be the answer. The part-time job news service An has a listing seeking security guard zombies for the world premiere of Resident Evil: The Final Chapter.

The listing is searching for two zombies to act as security at the live-action film's world premiere red carpet event at Tokyo's Roppongi Hills Arena on December 13 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The application period is December 1 to December 7, and successful applicants will receive notice on December 9.

The only requirement for applicants is that they must be "someone who can calmly carry out security duties even while becoming a zombie." Haunted house specialist and zombie makeup expert Michaelty Yamaguchi will be responsible for transforming the successful applicants into zombies. Yamaguchi has planned many haunted houses and horror attractions and provided special-effects makeup for films such as Twilight Syndrome: Dead Cruise, The Scary Folklore: Omote no Shō, and Real Onigokko.

The zombie guards will each receive 81,000 yen (about US$712), compensation for traveling expenses, and a pair of tickets for the film. The zombies must return their loaned uniforms after their time as undead guards.

The "final" live-action film based on CAPCOM's Resident Evil games, opens in Japan on December 23, and then in North America on January 27. Milla Jovovich returns to star as Alice, and Japanese entertainer Rola makes her Hollywood debut as Cobalt.

Part-time jobs are nothing to scoff at, as they make up an integral part of life for many working adults, including Japanese voice actors. Even The Devil Is a Part-Timer! Other alternative part-time jobs include work as a Shinigami for the live-action Death Note Light up the NEW world film or as a member of the AKB48 idol group.
