Milktub Vocalist bamboo Ties the Knot at Eccentric Family Pilgrimage Site

The lead vocalist of musical duo milktub, bamboo, announced on his blog that he and his bride held a wedding ceremony at Shimogamo Shrine in Kyoto on April 13. The happy couple were wed in traditional Japanese attire in a location that holds special meaning for bamboo.
The Shimogamo Shrine is also the setting of The Eccentric Family anime series. milktub performed theme songs for both seasons of the show. The singer also wrote that the shrine is not just important because of its appearance in the anime series. bamboo would often visit the shrine not only to pray for the songs' success but also his own hopes for a happy marriage one day. He thanked his wife for marrying him and said,
"She dauntlessly supported me during my serious illness last year, and I wonder if I really might have died if this person hadn't been there." bamboo underwent treatment last year for bladder cancer.
bamboo brought the Shimogamo tanuki siblings with him for the ceremony and even shared a picture of his esteemed wedding guests.
bamboo's wife is not in the entertainment business, and so out of respect for her privacy he did not share any photos that would reveal her identity. The photo of the couple above was inspired in part by The Eccentric Family 2 Blu-ray art depicting Yaichiro on his wedding day.
bamboo will return to Shimogamo Shrine again, this time for a live musical performance. On June 3, the shrine will host an Eccentric Family event with milktub and voice actors and cast from the show. He will also go on tour starting an acoustic concert in Sapporo on July 29 and a concert on August 25 in Daizawa, Tokyo.
