Female Vocalist of New Linked Horizon Song is Mikasa's Voice Actor Yui Ishikawa

Linked Horizon released short version of promo movie for 'Winter of 13' song on Monday

The female vocalist of the new Linked Horizon song "13 no Fuyu" (Winter of 13) is Attack on Titan character Mikasa's voice actor Yui Ishikawa. The song is included with Linked Horizon's fourth single Shinjitsu e no Shingeki (Advance to the Truth), which will go on sale on June 19.

On April 1, a part of the song was released indicating that the track had a female vocalist (Linked Horizon songs typically have a male vocalist Revo), but the identity of the vocalist was not released at the time. On Monday, Linked Horizon released a short version of the promo movie for "13 no Fuyu" song exclusively on Japanese video streaming website GYAO!. The video uses clips from the Attack on Titan anime, with a focus on showing Eren and Mikasa as children.

Linked Horizon performed the opening theme songs of the first and second seasons, as well as the ending theme song of the first part of the third season and the opening theme song of the second part of the third season.

Ishikawa left a comment on the video on GYAO!, saying, "Revo's music for Attack on Titan has always showed a deep understanding of the story ... I always had a vague idea that I'd like to sing one of his songs one day, but I'm so glad that my dream was able to come true in this way! Since I'm an actor, I was aiming to deliver a song that only I could do because of my relationship with the anime. I put my heart into it. I hope Linked Horizon fans listen to it! And I hope Eren does too."

The haunting ballad's lyrics speak wistfully of time that can never be turned back.

The television anime of Hajime Isayama's Attack on Titan manga premiered in April 2013, and its second season premiered in April 2017. The first part of the third season premiered in July 2018, and the second part premiered in April.
