Bang! Dream Girls Reimagined by Pop Team Epic Creator

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Bkub Okawa's Pop Team Epic is known for its outlandish humor and gags but its simple style also easily lends itself to character design redraws. Okawa drew the Transformers character Bumblebee after watching the live-action film, proving that even robots fit in the world of Popuko and Pipimi. The latest characters to get the Okawa makeover are the cast of Bushiroad's BanG Dream! franchise.

The cast of anime musicians will appear on a variety of merchandise in their new super-deformed look. So far the merchandise line-up includes can badges, rubber straps, and acrylic keychains. Pre-orders are open at shops throughout Japan and orders are expected to ship in November.

Bushiroad launched the BanG Dream! multimedia project in January 2015, and the company formed the Poppin' Party band for the project in February 2015. The project's other bands include Happy World!, Pastel*Palettes, Afterglow, and Roselia. The band members consist of voice actresses who portray the characters in the story, and they play the same instruments as their characters.
