Hironobu Kageyama to perform Budokai 3 theme, Dragon Ball 20th Anniversary Reunion Concert.

In his online journal, Hironobu Kageyama has indicated that he will be performing the main vocal theme for the "Dragon Ball Z 3" PlayStation 2 game ("Budokai 3" in the US). In addition to that, YUKA and KÛKO will be performing the back-up vocals. This is big news to Dragon Ball Z fans, who will recognize the trio as being responsible for the vast majority of music from the DBZ "Hit Collection" CDs all through the late 80s and early 90s.

The last song DB Hironobu Kageyama performed was the vocal theme for "Dragon Ball Z 2," or "Budokai 2" in the US, entitled "Kusuburu Heart ni Hi o Tsukero". Previous to this, however, the last time Hironobu Kageyama performed anything for the Dragon Ball franchise was in 1997, when he recorded the opening theme to the PS1 game "Final Bout," entitled "THE BIGGEST FIGHT ~Gekitotsu~"

Of even bigger news noted in his journal is the announcement of a 20th anniversary celebration in the form of a live reunion concert. The last time a show like this took place was in 1998, and was released to CD (Pony Canyon, FSCA-10066).

A Full translation of the Journal entries has been posted on Daizenshuu EX (see link above).
