Adaptation of Ryuta Amazume's romantic comedy to premiere on September 8

Ryuta Amazume's Nana to Kaoru romantic comedy manga is receiving its second live-action film adaptation. The film will screen at the Eurospace theater in Tokyo's Shibuya ward from September 8-21. The first Nana to Kaoru live-action film premiered at the same theater on March 19, 2011.

Atsushi Shimizu wrote and directed the first film produced by Mitsuru Ohshima. Rakuto Tochihara and Maho Nagase starred in the adaptation as high school students Kaoru and Nana.

The original Nana to Kaoru manga follows a boy named Kaoru who still has erotic feelings for his childhood friend and fellow high school student Nana. Hideki Okamoto directed an original video animation adaptation of the manga, and the anime shipped with the manga's sixth volume in March 2011.

The original manga's first eight volumes shipped as a set in Japan on May 4. Tamami Momose's four-panel spinoff manga debuted in Japan in October 2011. Hakusensha released a limited-edition Nana to Kaoru: Black Label volume in June 2011, and a second volume followed this past May. The first volume contained a "dōjinshi" bonus with art from other manga artists such as Chika Umino, Shimoku Kio, Taku Kitazaki, Keito Koume, and Bow Ditama.
