Megumi Hayashibara Stars in Kaiketsu Zorori Trailer

Kouichi Yamadera, Rikako Aikawa, Motoko Kumai reprise roles in Sunrise's kids' film

The website Saishin Anime Jōhō began streaming the trailer for Kaiketsu Zorori Da-Da-Da-Daibōken! (The Incredible Zorori's G-G-G-Great Adventure!), the first full-length feature film adaptation of Yutaka Hara's Kaiketsu Zorori (The Incredible Zorori) children's books, on Monday. The trailer reveals that Megumi Hayashibara has joined the cast as the heroine Airusu.

Hara's books follow Zorori, a mischievous bandit fox who dreams of becoming the "King of Pranks." Zorori aims to "build my own castle and make a beautiful princess my wife," and he embarks on one misadventure after another with his two boar companions Ishishi and Noshishi. In the film, Zorori is after a trove of riches discovered by the treasure hunter Zorondo Ron — the treasure is a necessary ingredient for medicine that will save dozens of ailing children.

Hara's books already inspired a 1993 theatrical short, a 2004-2005 television anime series, a second television anime from 2005 to 2007, and a second film short in 2006. For the new film, Kouichi Yamadera, Rikako Aikawa, Motoko Kumai will reprise their roles as Zorori, Ishishi, and Noshishi.

Tomoko Iwasaki, an episode director on the Kaiketsu Zorori televison series and Inazuma Eleven, is directing the new film at Sunrise and Asia-Do. Takeshi Mori (Najica Blitz Tactics, Ruin Explorers, Stratos 4) wrote the script, and the original anime's Kouhei Tanaka (Hyou-ka, Gate Keepers, Gunbuster) returns to compose the music.
