Crunchyroll Adds Live-Action My Little Nightmare Show

The website Crunchyroll announced on Tuesday that it will stream the live-action television series My Little Nightmare (Akumu-chan).

Based on Riku Onda's novel Mistaken Dreams and adapted by Sumio Oomori (Keiho, Feel the Wind), the series follows Ayami Muito, a very strange primary school teacher who is capable of lucid dreaming. One day, a new student transfers into her class named Yuiko Koto who is able to see the future. Yuiko's grandfather even developed technology to project her dreams onto a screen. Together, they find themselves trying to stop a nightmare.

The series stars Keiko Kitagawa (Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon's Sailor Mars, Paradise Kiss's Yukari 'Caroline' Hayasaka, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift's Reiko) as Ayami, GACKT (Sengoku Basara - Moonlight Party's Oda Nobunaga, Kamen Rider Decade the Movie: All Riders vs. Dai-Shocker's Jouji Yuuki) as neurology professor Takashi Shiki, singer Yuka (A Letter to Momo's Ikuko Miyaura) as school nurse Kotoha Hirajima, Mari Hamada ( Hana Zakari no Kimi-tachi e ~Ikemen Paradise (2011)'s Kanoko Nakatsu) as Sayoko Kaibara, Fumiyo Kohinata (Ace Attorney's Kotaro Haine, Casshern's Dr. Kozuki, Ringu 2's Kawajiri Ishi), as Mannosuke Koto and relative newcomer Manatsu Kimura as the enigmatic Yuiko Koto.

Other cast members include Keisuke Okada, Yousuke Kawamura, Masato Wada, Kenji Anan, and Midoriko Kimura.

My Little Nightmare will premiere on October 19 at 3:00 p.m. EDT with a new episode added every Friday. The series is available to all members in the U.S., Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand.
