Tsuritama's Nakamura Helms Gatchaman Crowds With Girl Lead

Toshio Nakatani, the deputy head of NTV's film business department, reported in the May/June issue of The Tsukuru magazine on Saturday that Kenji Nakamura (tsuritama, C – Control – The Money and Soul of Possibility) will direct the previously revealed Gatchaman Crowds television anime. He added that the new anime will be completely different from the original Kagaku Ninja-Tai Gatchaman anime.
The heroine of the new anime is a girl who practices the science ninja arts. According the character design sheet (pictured right) that Tsukuru published, the name of the girl is Hajime Ichinose.
Tatsunoko created the 1972 original Gatchaman series, although Nakatani does not say if Tatsunoko is also animating the new anime.
