posted on by Sarah Nelkin
Dating simulation game has over 4 million users, 100 characters each with a voice actress

The official website for the social romance simulation game Girl Friend (Kari) (Girl Friend BETA) announced on Wednesday that a television anime adaptation has been green-lit. More details will be unveiled at the anime's production announcement press conference, which will be held at the Akihabara UDX Theater in Tokyo. The cast will also make an appearance at the conference, and the website promises to announce the "extravagant cast of voices" in the coming days.

The website is also announcing that a manga adaptation of the game following a specific heroine has been green-lit, and will begin serialization in the September issue of Kadokawa's Dengeki Maoh magazine. More details about the manga will be unveiled in the magazine's August issue on Friday.

Cyber Agent's blogging website Ameba started service for the game for smartphones in 2012. As of 2014, the number of registered users has passed four million. The game features over one hundred girls for the player to date, each voiced by a different voice actress. Some of the cast of the game includes Yui Ogura as Momoko Asahina, Nana Inoue as Kazumi Kawabuchi, Megumi Toyoguchi as Akiho Shigetō, and Yukari Tamura as Koruri Tokitani.
