The official website for the anime adaptation of Tsukasa's Jūō Mujin no Fafnir (Unlimited Fafnir) light novel series announced on Wednesday the main cast members for the series:
Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (The IDOLM@STER, Sword Art Online) as Yū Mononobe
Rina Hidaka (Heaven's Memo Pad, Tamako Love Story) as Iris Freyja
Manami Numakura (The IDOLM@STER, Black Rock Shooter) as Mitsuki Mononobe
In addition, a production conference will be held over Niconico's live broadcasting service on November 26. The three announced cast members will attend the conference.
Keizou Kusakawa (Asura Cryin', Dog Days, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha The MOVIE 1st, Ro-Kyu-Bu!) is serving as chief director with Jun Takahashi (episode director on Cromartie High School, Otogi Zoshi, The Prince of Tennis) directing at diomedéa. Shōko Yasuda is designing the characters, and Satoki Iida is directing the sound. Nippon Columbia is producing the music. The TBS and BS-TBS channel will run the anime beginning in January.
In the "unlimited school battle action" story, the world was transformed by the sudden appearance of monsters known collectively as dragons. Before long, girls known as "D" were born with the dragons' powers. A boy named Yuu Mononobe is the world's only male "D," although his existence is kept secret. He is forced to enroll into Midgar, a school for "D" girls, where he see a female student Iris naked. Moreover, he is reunited with his long-separated little sister Mitsuki.
Tsukasa published the first novel volume with illustrations by Riko Korie (Tsuki Tsuki!) last year. Saburouta (Citrus, Chōkyō Kareshi) launched a manga adaptation in Kodansha's Good! Afternoon magazine in March.
