Tough/Riki-Oh's Saruwatari Will Start Rūnin Manga in January

In the story, "the strongest man rises in a devastated world"

This year's combined sixth and seventh issue of of Shueisha's Young Jump magazine is announcing on January 8 that Tetsuya Saruwatari (Tough, Riki-Oh) will start a new series titled Rūnin in the following issue on January 22. The taglines for the manga read "to live is to fight" and "In a world where both the world and people's hearts are in ruin, a boy survives on his power alone."

Saruwatari published a one-shot titled "Rūnin -The Ronin the Ruined City-" in Young Jump in April. In the story, "the strongest man rises in a devastated world."

Saruwatari ended his Lock Up wrestling manga in Grand Jump magazine on October 1. He published the "Fragging" one-shot in Grand Jump Premium in May. He ended his Gokusai manga in 2013 with four compiled volumes and ended his Tough manga in 2012 with 39 compiled volumes. Tough inspired the original video anime Shootfighter Tekken in 2004. Saruwatari is also the artist for the Riki-Oh manga that inspired two video anime and a live-action film.
