JoJo - Battle Tendency also launching digitally first on April 21

Viz Media announced on Tuesday that it will offer Sousuke Kaise's Grenadier manga series and Yoshitsugu Katagiri's Red Hot Chili Samurai manga series on its digital manga platform.

Sousuke Kaise launched his Grenadier action manga in Kadokawa's Shōnen Ace magazine in 2003, and Kadokawa published the manga's seventh and last compiled book volume in May 2005. The manga inspired an anime in 2004. Tokyopop published published the first volume in English in 2003, and published the seventh and last volume in August 2008. Viz will publish the first volume on their digital platform on April 21.

Yoshitsugu Katagiri serialized his Red Hot Chili Samurai (Kokaku Torimonochō) manga in Kadokawa's Beans Ace magazine from 2007 until the magazine ended publication in October 2009. The manga then ran in Monthly Asuka magazine until it ended in 2010. Kadokawa published the manga's eighth and last compiled book volume in August 2010.

Tokyopop licensed the manga in 2009, and had released four volumes in North America before the company announced that it would shut down. Online manga site JManga also acquired the first four English volumes of the manga before it stopped service. Viz will publish the first volume on their digital platform on April 28.

Viz Media also announced that it will publish the first volume of the second part of Hirohiko Araki's JoJo's Bizarre Adventure manga series, Battle Tendency, on April 21 on their digital platform. Viz announced that they had licensed the manga last July.
