New character "Noel" unveiled

The tenth volume of Kadokawa's Type-Moon Ace magazine announced details on a remake of Type-Moon's doujin game Tsukihime (Lunar Legend Tsukihime) on Wednesday.

Type-Moon writer Kinoko Nasu and character designer Takashi Takeuchi (Fate/stay night) discussed the game in an interview, saying that the remake will have improved graphics and scenario. The setting is moving from the Tokyo suburbs to the city.

The magazine also unveiled character designs, including a design for a new character named Noel (pictured below). Other characters confirmed for the remake include Arcueid Brunestud, Shiki Tohno, Akiha Tohno, Hisui, Satsuki Yumizuka, Ciel, and Arihiko Inui.

Type-Moon's original doujin game debuted at Winter Comiket in 2000. The 24-episode anime adaptation premiered in 2003 and Geneon Entertainment released the series on DVD in North America.

Sasakishonen drew a manga based on Tsukihime beginning in 2004, and DrMaster released six of the 10 volumes of the series in English. Takeru Kirishima began a manga based on the sequel, Melty Blood, in 2006 and Kadokawa Shoten published the ninth and final compiled volume in 2010.

Update: Manga volume count, anime episode count corrected. Thanks, ArchetypeSaber and Hameyadea.
